The Happiness Trap Cleanse & Detox Plan

Prepare to feel great

How it works?

Call in store or phone and book your detox package (it is set up as a 3 day plan but you can repeat it as many days as you like)

Each day, call in store and we will have your detox package ready for you to take away with you.

You will receive:

  • 2 x 500ml bottles of fresh smoothies, made with our new cold press juicer
  • 1 x 500ml bottle fresh, cold pressed juice,
  • Your choice of a soup or container of mixed salad from our daily menu.

What do you do next?

Drink one bottle of smoothie for your breakfast, a bottle of juice at lunch, a bottle of smoothie late afternoon or early evening, heat your soup gently (and enjoy preferably before 7pm) or get munching on your delicious salad.

Note: When you wake, it is good to drink a cup of hot water with a squeeze of lemon. Make sure to drink plenty of fresh water and lots of warming herbal teas (stay off the caffeine) throughout the day. If you find a full bottle of smoothie/juice at one time is too much, only drink enough to fill you up and keep the rest for later. Even too much of a good thing isn’t good for you.

Repeat above for day 2 and 3 (or longer if you like )

How Much does it cost?

The cost is £17 per day + a £3 refundable deposit on the bottles (when you return the 3 bottles – washed please – you will receive £3 back)

Please note; for the first couple of days you will more than likely experience headaches, low energy and feel cold – don’t worry, this is perfectly normal. The juice is not making you feel this bad it is everything that went before! Stick with it, when you “come out the other side” you will feel amazing!

We take all the hard work out of doing a detox plan. Our juices are specially designed to give you maximum nutritional benefit while tasting wonderful.

10 Do’s and Don’ts While On a Juice Cleanse

A juice cleanse is a great way to provide your body with an abundance of nutrients that support the detoxification pathways while giving your digestive system a break. It sounds easy enough to just drink delicious juice, but it is good to prepare yourself in order to pull it off feeling good both throughout the cleanse and after. Our mind and body in one unit and a good cleanse supports both those aspects.  A few simple tips will help you achieve a greater experience.

1. Do prepare yourself for the cleanse

It is good to prepare yourself for two reasons: to avoid detox symptoms such as headache, digestive discomfort and mood swings. It is equally important to be mentally prepared in order to avoid falling into old habits and impulses to eat. Try to wean yourself off caffeinated beverages, alcohol, refined and processed foods at least a few days before your cleanse. Focus on organic protein, unprocessed fats, fruits and vegetables along with herbal tea and water. Think of a juice cleanse as a marathon both mind and body need to be prepared for successful completion.

2. Do Hydrate

It is important to hydrate your body with pure filtered water when you are cleansing. Sure, you will be drinking plenty of liquid in juice form, but additional water will support your body’s ability to flush out the toxins. Drinking water will also reduce the rate the sugar that is absorbed when consuming juice and will allow for more stable energy during the day.

3. Do Relax

It is very energy demanding process to cleanse the body. The liver and the kidneys are hard at work. Allow yourself to relax when tired. Take a nap, if possible and save your energy to be used by your organs. Listen to music that you enjoy and do activities that make you happy. When was the last time you lit candles and took a nice relaxing bath?

4. Don’t Stress

Stress less – especially when on a cleanse. Try not to be as busy as possible just to avoid thinking about food. Relaxing activities will support a better cleanse and also keep your mind more balanced and better equipped to complete the cleanse. Stress will make you more “hangry” (hungry and angry).

5. Do Breathe

Have you ever noticed that when we are stressed we hold our breath? Pay attention to your breathing and try to do a few deep belly breathing exercises several times a day. Notice the shift that happens in your body after you have taken several deep breaths. Amazing!

6. Don’t give up on the first day

The first day of a juice cleanser is the hardest. Your brain will receive hunger signals telling you to eat. Remember that you are providing your body with an abundance of nutrients when you are drinking juice, but your body is used to having its stomach filled up with solid food and just needs some time to adjust.

When you wake up in the morning of the second day, you will most likely have less hunger signals to battle. It can be helpful to drink a cup of warm herbal tea to reduce the feeling of being hungry.

7. Do Exercise

Exercise is helpful when on a juice cleanse. Movement supports the elimination of toxins by regulating bowel movement, moving the lymph fluid and by breaking sweat. Strenuous exercise is to be avoided because of the reduced calorie intake during the juice cleanse, but light exercise consider increasing your juice intake for additional nutrients and calories.

8. Do include massage or acupuncture

For some of the same reasons that movement and exercise is good during a juice cleanse, getting a massage is also helpful. The lymph fluid is moved during massage which supports the elimination of toxins. Both massage and acupuncture have the ability to calm your mind and bring you back to your inner self. It is a good time to sense how your body actually feels, since we generally rush through life without paying attention to signals our body is giving us.

9. Don’t overdo it

Listen to your body! Juicing is a wonderful way to give your body nutrient-dense food in an easily absorbable form, but your body may require a higher calorie intake or more fat to function. Your body is unique from everyone else’s and you need to listen to your body if it tells you that it’s time to break the fast. Extended fasts can be extremely helpful for many people, but that doesn’t mean it’s good for you. If you have concerns or health conditions, discuss it with you health practitioner. If you are trying out a juice fast for the first time aim for 1-3 days and work your way up.

10. Don’t overeat when the cleanse is complete

At the end of your cleanse it is important that you ease into eating regular food again. Remember that your digestive system is empty and needs a gentle wakeup call. A smoothie is a good first food. Adding fibres such as flax or chia seeds is a good way to get the digestive system going again. Work your way up to solid foods and don’t forget to drive adequate water to avoid constipation.
